Spin/Cycling Classes at MEI Fitness
What Exactly is Spin?
The spin classes offered at MEI Fitness Fishers provide a positive and enthusiastic environment that makes everyone feel at home! Essentially spin includes a full body workout on a stationary bike. One of our instructors will take you through an hour workout that will get your heart rate up and help you sweat out all of those toxins.
Our instructors motivate and encourage you as you go through interval training and steep hills. Spin promotes a healthy lifestyle and team oriented environment. Remember you get what you put into the class! Typically, after an hour of spin you can burn anywhere from 500-700 calories.
Spin improves your cardio health, tones your legs and core and is a great way to burn calories!
What Should I Wear?
• Comfortable clothing- You will be moving the whole time, so wear something that enables you to have full range of motion and doesn’t rub against your skin.
• Towel or sweatband is beneficial to aid you through the class; you’ll definitely work up a sweat!
• Bring a water bottle. There will be opportunities for water breaks, to avoid the hassle of getting off the bike during the class, maximize your time by simply having a water bottle handy.
• Spin shoes or tennis shoes. Our bikes strap on over tennis shoes however there are shoes that are made specifically for spin (which can be found at most sporting goods stores). These shoes lock into the spin bike and can create more stability for your ride.
